Tehran to host intl. conference on AIDS in December
TEHRAN – The second international conference on AIDS will be held at Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences from December 7-9, IRNA reported on Saturday.
The secretary of the conference has called the purpose of the conference recent exchange in latest developments in diagnosis, drug treatment, preventive measures, and epidemiology of the HIV virus among vulnerable groups, women and children.
The prevalence of the viral disease in women, changing transmission patterns of virus by use of infected syringes, and most importantly “decline in the age of the HIV positive people”, have all been the reasons to have the scientific conference, Masoud Mardani noted.
Among attendees are pundits from Europe and America continents, he said, adding that an estimated 400 articles are expected to hit the conference this year.
